A talented cook from Clitheroe put her culinary skills to good use to raise money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation Clitheroe woman has held a ‘Pampered Chef’ cooking party in aid of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Louisa Cocks (35) is an independent consultant for Pampered Chef and hosted a “Pampered Chef Cooking Party” at St Paul’s Centenary Hall, Longridge, raising more than £100 for the local cancer charity’s Valentine’s Appeal.

Longridge’s Weightwatchers leader Claire Anderson invited her group members along to the live cookery demonstration, which encouraged people to get hands-on and try the healthy recipes and utensils. They could then buy the items on show, with a percentage of profits going towards Rosemere.

The Rosemere Cancer Foundation is close to Louisa’s heart after a close friend was treated at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital.

Louisa said: “I was really keen to support Rosemere and thought what better way than getting people along to one of my shows. It’s good fun and everyone can get involved, and of course the end result tastes great!”

Dan Hill, Area Fundraising Co-ordinator for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “The Pampered Chef cooking party offers something a bit different and it’s a nice way to bring people together to enjoy and learn about food, while raising valuable funds for charity. I’d like to thank Louisa, Claire and her Weightwatchers group for all their efforts.”

Now in its fourth year, the Rosemere Valentine’s Appeal had a fund-raising target of £50,000 to help the charity fund vital facilities, equipment and research to help those being treated by cancer in the region. The Appeal ended on February 28th, but money is still being collected and coming in from across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
