A FLEDGLING firm of accountants in Clitheroe is going head to head with industry giants at the British Accountancy Awards 2011.

Clitheroe-based FS Accountants has made the shorlist for the Community Award at the annual event, in London on November 30th. The Lowergate firm, run by Damain Farragher and Sarah Sharples, is up against two of the industry’s major players – PKF (UK) and KPMG – the latter being one of the biggest accountancy firms in the world.

“To put this in context by using a footballing analogy, this is the equivalent of Clitheroe Football Club being shorlisted for an award alongside Manchester United and Chelsea!” said Damian.

He and Sarah have an anxious wait until the awards night, which showcases and celebrates the best in accountancy across the UK.
