A NEW curry stall on Clitheroe’s three-day market has got off to a sparkling start.

Jeff Thomson’s “Curried Away” has been awarded top marks by Ribble Valley Borough Council environmental health team as part of the national food hygiene rating scheme. Its score of five is the highest attainable and is awarded to businesses with “very good” hygiene standards.

“That helps gets Curried Away off to a positive start and shows the markets industry can compete at the very top level,” said a delighted Jeff.

No stranger to high scoring, he was national runner-up in the “Make your Mark in Markets” contest in 2010 with Curried Away while trading on Todmorden outdoor market. The relocation to Clitheroe means fresh curries and Asian snacks to take home or eat on the go are available locally to Ribble Valley shoppers daytime on market days – Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
