Class 5P at Pendle Primary School visited a Clitheroe store as part of a very important mission to become “Healthy Heroes”.

As part of the children learning about the importance of a balanced and varied diet, which has seen them challenging themselves to eat their five a day, they took a walk to Homebase to buy seeds to plant in their outside classroom. They all came back with a plant each, donated by the store.

Class teacher Mrs Rachel Peachey said: “Thanks to Richard, the store manager, the children have started to plant a fruit and vegetable patch to make their own salads. They can’t wait to harvest their crops!”
