Clitheroe based accountancy firm FS Accountants Ltd has been shortlisted for the second year running for a prestigious national award.
The firm, run by Damian Farragher of Green Drive, Clitheroe, and Sarah Sharples, of Huncoat, will again be competing with giants of the accounting industry in the British Accountancy Awards 2012.
The firm has been shortlisted in the community award category for the work that it does supporting new businesses in the region.
Sarah said: “It’s unprecedented for a relatively small firm like ours to gain recognition two years in a row. The judging panel is made up of some very influential individuals so to impress them twice feels like we are doing things right”
In last year’s event FS Accountants were narrowly beaten by accounting monoliths KPMG and will be up against them again this year.
Damian said: “I don’t think there is any shame in being beaten by a major international firm such as KPMG. Simply being shortlisted feels like a major achievement. I think that it shows that businesses in Clitheroe can compete with even the biggest and best the rest of the country has to offer.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 21 November.
