Brownies enjoyed bedtime with a difference when they had a sleepover at Clitheroe Library.
Twenty girls from the 1st Grindleton Brownie Pack brought their sleeping bags, teddies and storybooks and took part in activites to earn their Book Lover’s badge, before settling down to a bedtime story together and then some sleep.
It was part of Pennine Lancashire’s Museums at Night campaign, where museums and libraries put on special evening events all across the country.
Joanne Lancaster, librarian at Clitheroe Library, said: “The Brownies were so excited about the sleepover.“It is great to work with our local community in this way, and combined with the Girlguiding exhibition we have currently in the library.
“It is a fun and relevant way to introduce young people to their library and their local heritage.”
There is also a Waddow Hall Girlguiding Exhibition on at the library, due to close after today.
The exhibition shows old photographs of Waddow Hall, Waddington, a 17th Century Manor house thatb has been a Guirlguiding activity centre since 1928. Brownie and Guide memorabilia and some old uniforms and badges are also on display.
Girlguides are run entirely by volunteer staff and are short of willing volunteers to assist or lead.
