"THE Boffins of Bletchley" was the subject of a talk and film show presented by Mr Ron Challen to Clitheroe and District Probus Club.

Interspersing his narrative with film clips from the wartime archive, Mr Challen gave an insight into the secret and crucial code breaking work carried out at Bletchley Park during the Second World War.

Equally fascinating was the summary of what is known about the organisation set up in Germany to decode the Allied messages.

After a short question time the vote of thanks was given by member Tom Duff.

Clitheroe and District Probus Club meet on the first and third Fridays of the month, at 10-45 a.m. at the Pendle Club, Lowergate, Clitheroe. The next meeting is on February 4th when Mr Ian Harrison will talk about "Medicine's Tragedies". Inquiries about the club can be made on 01200 429207.
