BILLINGTON: Remembrance Sunday parade

Remembrance Day - A parade by Whalley and Distict Branch of the Royal British Legion will assemble at Billington Gardens on Sunday proceeding to Billington War Memorial at 2-45 p.m. for a wreath-laying service for Remembrance Day.

The parade will be led by the Accrington Pipe Band with Blackburn Sea Cadets the Guard of Honour at the war memorial. Also in attendance will be Mayor and Mayoress of the Ribble Valley Coun. Simon Hore and Mrs Grace Hore.

Community - The service on Sunday in Billington Community Church was taken by the Rev. Don Johnson entitled “When the church cares”. A Bible reading from Philippians four, chapter four, verses 10-20 ending in “God in turn shall meet all our needs”, read by Joseph Mason Bird. The hymns “Praise my Soul the King of Heaven” and “All people that on earth do dwell” were sung, followed by Holy Communion. Flowers were provided from the church flower fund.

The service on Sunday will be one of Remembrance taken by the Rev. Don Johnson at 10-45 a.m.

Café bar - The café bar is open on Saturday from 10-30 a.m. to 1-30 p.m.
