An evening of fizz and fashion has been dubbed a blooming success by its organisers.
The fashion show raised £950 to be split equally between Langho in Bloom and Billington and Langho Community Centre, the location of the event.
The fundraiser was provided by Whalley boutique “Wardrobe by Simone” and coordinated by Zoie and compered by Anna who introduced the models – Jean, Julie, Karen, Mel and Sarah to showcase the boutique’s spring/summer collection.
A variety of tops, trousers and shoes along with co-ordinated accessories were modelled by the ladies.
Simone donated 10% commission on any sales to go towards the fundraising efforts.
Kate Murdoch, chairman of Langho in Bloom, said: “Simone and her staff put on a brilliant show – the hall was full to capacity and the place had a real buzz.
“To see so many people from the local community was lovely as it’s heart-warming to know we have so much support.
“We had some really generous sponsorship of raffle prizes too.”
Speaking on behalf of the community centre, Carolyn Topham, said: “I want to pay tribute to the volunteers of Langho in Bloom for handling most of the organisation for this event – the gardening volunteers have done so much to improve the village over the past two years.
“The funds, apart from helping with spring planting, will be used towards repolishing the community centre floor.”
