It was a golden day for a Ribble Valley nursing home when 28 of its staff members won awards.

There is a whopping 634 years of care experience between 28 employees at The Manor House Nursing and Residential Home, Chatburn - and it's this dedication which landed each of them a Long Service Award.

Manager Cath Mellin and carer Margaret Lewis have each given more than 25 years of service while Steph Green, Emma Pinder and Jill Walton have been supporting residents for more than 20 years.

Four members of the team took home awards for 15 years of work and 19 employees were recognised for more than 10 years on the job.

Thanks were also given to: Dr Warren and Irene Chenary for their regular surgeries at the home; Andrew Hall and Brian Downham for providing fabulous musical entertainment; and Mayoress Marilyn Davies and Town Crier Roland Hailwood for their contribution.

And to top the day off, proprietors Janet and Chris Harrison dished out gifts of vouchers, flowers and wine to thank the team for their loyalty over the years.
