Artwork created by college pupils has been exhibited at The Platform Gallery, in Clitheroe.
Each year the art and design department from St Mary’s College, Blackburn, holds an exhibition in order to celebrate the success of its students. Among those are ex-pupils of Ribblesdale High School Technology College, Clitheroe.
The Blackburn-based college represents work from each student and each of its four arts A Level subjects; fine art, graphic design, digital photography and textiles and fashion.
A spokesman said: “We have some amazing talent in the department and it is the highlight of the year for us to be able to share this work with the general public.
“Previously, work has been exhibited at St Mary’s College, The Platform Gallery, Blackburn Library and Gawthorpe Hall.
“This year we were thrilled to have exhibited the students’ work for a full month at The Platform Gallery.
“This venture was supported by donations made by staff, students and our very generous Alumni community, which helped towards setting up costs, hiring the gallery space, refreshments on our opening night and advertising. We couldn’t have run it without their support!”
Andrea Westall, head of art, added: “Many students go onto study art at prestigious universities and having their work exhibited is a fabulous opportunity for the students to have a taste of presenting an exhibition in a professional environment and to have their work seen by a wider audience.
“We had such great response from our visitors.”
