Event lead Emma Griffiths said: “We’ve been given a really warm welcome by the people of Burnley who have been behind the event from day one.

“We’ve had phenomenal support not only from people wanting to run the Pennine Lancashire 10K but also those who have volunteered and helped in other ways. We’re really looking forward to next Sunday.

“It will be just fantastic to see 1,500 people running through the heart of the town.”
