One thousand entries and counting - that’s the status so far for Longridge and District Fanciers 48th North of England open show on Saturday, February 13.
“It’s all going with a bang this time!” said a very pleased Fanciers president for the last 23 years, Allan Procter, whose wife Dinah succeeded him to the office last year.
“We have poultry, bantams, game, large fowl, water fowl, eggs, even an odd turkey or two - all really educational so we hope lots of people will come along to see them.
“Entries are from far and wide, one of the furthest from Cornwall, and our regular judges are returning again.”
The venue, as last year, is Clitheroe Auction Mart, where judging starts at 9.30am with championship prizes presented at 1pm.
An all-day cafeteria provides refreshments for everyone, and in the market’s adjacent building, sales of poultry plus equestrian items such as saddlery and tack will be taking place.
