House developer scores for rugby club
Swapping building sites for a Ribble Valley rugby pitch, housing developer Jones Homes has teamed up with Clitheroe Rugby Club for the 2016/2017 season.
Jones Homes is supporting of the club at a very poignant time, with the club celebrating its 40th season as a rugby sporting organisation.
And to mark this very special occasion, the house builder has provided brand new commemorative kits for both the 1st XV and 2nd XV teams.
With a number of developments currently under construction across Lancashire, particularly its new Littlemoor Park development on Littlemoor Road in Clitheroe, which overlooks the club’s ground, Jones Homes welcomed the opportunity to be an integral part of Clitheroe Rugby Club this season.
Bob Wilkinson, chairman at Clitheroe Rugby Club, said: “We are thrilled to have teamed up with Jones Homes and welcome their support. The club is huge part of the community and like all other local clubs we simply would not exist without such generosity. We are thrilled to have Jones Homes on board and look forward to working with them for years to come.”
● This Saturday sees the annual Former Players’ Lunch at the clubhouse.
As both senior XV’s are playing at home on the day it is a great opportunity for the “old timers” to check on how the young upstarts are shaping up in the famous maroon and gold jersey. A convivial afternoon is on the cards with a sit down lunch and plenty of time reminisce about the good old days!
Advance booking is essential for this popular event, so anyone who has pulled on a pair of boots for CRUFC in the past and wants to meet up on the day can get in touch via the club’s Facebook page, email [email protected], or call Roger Holmes, direct, on 07971 023739.
This season the club is supporting two charities – both Derian House Children’s Hospice and MIND, the mental health charity. Functions like this will fundraise for these charities.
