Game on for Colne's renovated playgrounds

Colne Town Council confirmed that all the work which was scheduled to be done in the playground development project has now been successfully completed.
Alkincoates playground has had some of the old equipment removed and replaced with new. King George V playground had everything completely removed and replaced with new equipment for all ages.

Hide AdWest Street playground was renovated and repainted to give a brand new look to the play area with some play graphics added.
Waterside playground has been extended to give more room for everyone to enjoy, new equipment and some of the old equipment refurbished and relocated to take advantage of the extra space.
The playground which was located at the bottom of Exchange Street has now been closed permenantly and some of the equipment has been moved to the new Waterside playground.
Coun. David Clegg, chairman of the Playground Development Project, said: “The playground project within Colne was to give our play facilities a new lease of life and looking at how fantastic our play grounds look, I think the project has been a massive success.

"With the global pandemic relating to Covid-19 we had to close all play areas to prevent people becoming infected or passing on the virus, this gave us the opportunity to get the work done without people missing out on the play grounds in Colne."
