The victorious Pendle Primary School team.

The team, made up of Year 5 students from Pendle Primary School on Princess Avenue in the town, took part in the competition organised by Hyndburn & Ribble Valley School Sports Partnership on Friday, May 11th and dispatched all comers, going unbeaten to claim the title.

With a hotshot team featuring four girls and four boys, the Pendle Primary outfit performed "exceptionally well," according to Administration Assistant , Helen Tomlinson, who called the team's exploits a "fantastic achievement by all that took part," on the day.

"Our mixed Year 5 team took part in a tournament, not losing a game all day," Helen said. "They actually went on to win the whole tournament!"

The school will now go on to represent their borough at the next event, which will be held in Blackpool on July 3rd.
