‘Educating Rita’ comes to Colne
The play follows the relationship between Rita, a young hairdresser from Liverpool, and middle-aged university lecturer Dr Frank Bryant, and takes place during the course of a year.
Rita, dissatisfied with the routine of her work and social life, seeks inner growth by signing up for an Open University course in English literature. Frank is impressed by Rita’s verve and earnestness and is forced to re-examine his attitudes and position in life.
