A special presentation took place at last weekend’s game, honouring the six Burnley Football Club players who made the ultimate sacrifice in, or as a result of, the deadliest conflict in history, World War One.

Alfred Lorimer, John T Heaton, William Pickering, William Johnson, Jonathan Brown and Edward Hodgson, are all honoured on a plaque kindly donated by the Burnley Former Players Association.

The plaque, which was presented to the two club Chairmen, John Banaszkiewicz and Mike Garlick by WO2 CSM Peter Briggs, will hang in the club’s main reception.
