Crews called to basement fire in Nelson

Firefighters were called to a house in Scotland Road on Bank Holiday Monday after a fire started in the basement.

Two fire engines from Nelson attended the terraced property yesterday at 2-30pm.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire."
