Booze shop knifepoint robbery charge

A man has appeared before Burnley magistrates accused of a knifepoint robbery at Victoria Booze in Padiham on Monday.

Dean Hussain (28) is charged with robbing Hassan Qureshi of four bottles of vodka, after he was alleged to have demanded money, on January 25th.

Hussain also faces an allegation of possessing an offensive weapon - a 12-inch knife - on Milton Street, Padiham, on the same date.

The defendant, of Parish Street, Padiham, will have his case heard at Burnley Crown Court and was remanded in custody until a hearing there on February 25th.
