NORTHERN jazz favourites Julie Edwards and Kevin Dearden are the next performers to grace the stage of the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club.
They will perform in the function room at the Swan and Royal Hotel, in Castle Street, Clitheroe, on Friday, July 25th, at 8 p.m.

Vocalist Julie Edwards and saxophonist/guitarist Kevin Dearden met six years ago and have produced two critically acclaimed CDs, "Eden" and "Connections", both of which featured on Michael Parkinson's and Humphrey Lyttelton's BBC Radio 2 shows. Together with their band – Edward Barnwell on piano, Steve Berry on double bass and Rob Turner on drums and percussion – they have worked exhaustively around the north of England and beyond.

The quintet play standards with a contemporary slant, emphasising tight grooves, interesting phrasing and evocative ballads. They also play some of their own compositions.

The Clitheroe gig is open to all. Tickets cost £10 on the door or in advance from Clitheroe Tourist Information Office, now based at the Ribble Valley Borough Council offices in Church Walk. Full-time students qualify for half-price and accompanied under-16s go free.

You can find out more about the club by phoning 07870 908159 or visiting www.rvjazzandblues.co.uk
