Nature photography for Ribblesdale Camera Club

A SUMMER programme of walks and outdoor activities for members of Ribblesdale Camera Club has continued with a nature walk through Brungerley Park and Crosshills Quarry, led by Stephen Robinson.
Heavy rain cleared minutes after the meet time, giving a pleasant evening for photography. Many wild flowers and birds, including a heron, were seen. An enterprising rabbit was seen using the rock strata in the quarry as an entrance drive to its high viewpoint.
On August 12th, there will be a walk led by Ken Geddes, from the Cross of Greet Bridge car park to Jumbles Quarry. This will be a combination of nature photography and industrial archaeology, the remains of the Stocks Reservoir construction railway being seen.
On Tuesday August 19th, there will be a descent of Gaping Gill by the winch. Please phone in advance if these meets are of interest.
Details of the club, which meets in the winter months at West Bradford Village Hall, can be obtained from chairman John Bradley on 01254 822921 or secretary Ken Geddes on 01200 423474.
