THE music of Glenn Miller is alive and sounding well in Skipton.
Since before the war, millions of people worldwide have enjoyed the music of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and now a new big band club is being formed in Skipton by enthusiast the Rev, David Wiseman.

The Skipton Swing Society strikes up in September and will meet monthly at the Narrow Boat pub in Victoria Street, Skipton. Every month, members will be able to listen to big bands of the swing era, beginning on Thursday, September 25th, at 7-30 p.m. with Glenn Miller.

In October it will be Benny Goodman, followed by Harry James in November and Tommy Dorsey in December.

Details on how to join the society can be obtained in writing from Mr Wiseman at 4 The Ginnel, Skipton, North Yorks, BD23 2HW.
