Bishops visit en route to Lambeth Conference

ANGLICAN bishops from Japan, Canada and America will visit the Ribble Valley this weekend, on their way to the Lambeth Conference – the 10-year gathering of global bishops in Canterbury.
Their whistle-stop tour of the Blackburn Diocese will include a tour of Whalley Abbey, an introduction to inter-faith work and a Burnley mosque visit, a gospel concert, tour of Lancaster Castle and visit to Blackpool Tower.

The visiting bishops are: Bishop Andrew and Mrs Grace Nakamura from Kobe, Japan; Bishop Ronald and Mrs Janet Ferris from Algoma, Ontario, Canada, and Bishop Nathan and Mrs Ellen Baxter from Central Pennsylvania, USA.

They will stay with the Bishops of Blackburn, Burnley and Lancaster during their time in Lancashire.
