IF you are looking for a new interest to fill the coming winter months, why not consider amateur dramatics?
Whether treading the boards or helping behind the scenes, Clitheroe Operatic and Dramatic Society is always on the lookout for new people to join its ranks.

Its next production, to be staged early next year, is "Chess", with a musical score by Benny and Bjorn, from ABBA, and lyrics by Tim Rice. Among the hit songs from the West End musical are "I Know Him So Well", "One Night in Bangkok" and "Pity the Child".

Planning for the show, directed by Howard Raw, is already well in hand, with an enrolment night scheduled for Thursday, August 28th, at the St Mary's Centre, in Church Brow, Clitheroe. It begins at 7-30 p.m. and anyone wanting to find out more about the society and get involved is welcome to go along. The main acting auditions for "Chess" are planned for early October.
