By day he is Dominic Hester, respected head of an esteemed local law firm, level-headed, eminently sensible and with a keen eye for legal detail... but by night he is Dusty Muckbuster, outrageous Dame and star of the Chipping panto stage!

For Dominic, owner of Clitheroe-based DLH Solicitors has lately been moonlighting as his colourful alter-ego in the Chipping Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS) Christmas Pantomime of Snow White. Playing the slapstick sidekick of Mary Biker (Andrew Harrison), the two Dames rescue Snow White from the wicked Queen (boo!) with a combination of rock cakes and super-soaker water pistols.

Unmasked, Dominic admitted: “I had avoided getting involved for several years, but this year I ran out of excuses! CATS has a long history of producing good old-fashioned rollicking pantomimes which I have always enjoyed watching. The Panto is a much anticipated annual event marking the beginning of Christmas festivities in the village.”

Held over three nights, the panto performances raised money for charity and lots of uproarious laughter too.

The panto is written and directed by Theresa Eveson, who said: “The CATS Panto raises laughs and money for various charities and is supported brilliantly by the village every year. Money raised from this year’s production will be going to the children’s hospice Derian House and the Alzhiemers Association. Dominic and CATS stalwart Andrew Harrison were automatic choices as the Dames!”

In his day job Dominic specialises in commercial law. He commented: “I have been incredibly busy on several big commercial deals during the past couple of months, so it has been odd to leave the office and head straight to rehearsals to put on my skirt and wig!”
