Clitheroe Parish Church Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society holds its AGM next Tuesday (May 8th) at 7-30 p.m. at the St Mary’s Centre, in Church Street.

For all the society’s members, this is the annual opportunity to elect the committee and find out how successful the society has been in the past year. It is also a great opportunity for anyone thinking of getting involved to meet the members and find out more about this friendy and fun society.

A number of play reading evenings are also being held by the society for anyone who would like to take part in a fun, informal read through of a selection of comedy scripts. There are two this month, on May 16th and 30th.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved in the society, either performing on stage or helping out with a multitude of equally rewarding backstage tasks.

The society’s next production, under the joint direction of David Hulme and Lindsay Pollard and with choreography by Lindsay, will bring the best of Broadway musicals to local audiences. It promises a great evening of entertainment, with numbers from shows including Beauty and The Beast, Chicago, Sunset Boulevard, West Side Story and many more. “Belting Out Broadway” will run from Thursday May 24th to Saturday the 26th at the St Mary’s Centre, playing at at 7-30 p.m. nightly.
