PHOTO SPECIAL: Proms at Clitheroe Castle 2013

Clitheroe Castle’s bandstand played host to two nights of wonderful and heralded musical performances at the weekend.

Friday night’s rock night featured Freebird, Milky Bobbins, Blues Dudes and the Pleasers.

The celebrations culminated with The Last Night of the Proms on Saturday night, when Clitheroe Town Band performed alongside the Ribble Valley Choir, belting out many proms classics including Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia, which was sung by soloist Yvonne Hartlebury. A rousing performance of One Moment in Time was a big crowd pleaser, made famous by Whitney Houston at the Seoul Summer Olympics in 1988, along with contemporary hits such as Skyfall from the latest James Bond film and a Beatles medley.
