CELEBRITY Linda Nolan has helped Stanley House Hotel raise more than £1,000 for local charity Miles of Smiles at its first Ladies Who Lunch event of 2012.
The singer and actress joined 150 of Lancashire’s “Ladies Who Lunch” at the Meller hotel where she entertained guests with tales from her career in music, TV and the theatre.
Guests browsed stalls from Lancashire’s finest independent retailers before enjoying a spring-inspired menu designed by Stanley House executive head chef Steve Williams.
The event was the first of four ladies-only lunchs to be hosted at Stanley House this year and Linda’s appearance follows hot on the heels of last year’s celebrity hosts, including Anne Diamond, Rosemary Shrager and Edwina Currie.
Stanley House’s sales and marketing manager Wendy Hope said: “It was only fitting we should kickstart our 2012 events with a true Lancashire lass. Linda was a real hit with our ladies, who were enthralled by her showbiz stories.”
Linda Nolan paid tribute to the hotel and its pending spa launch, adding: “I had such a lovely time at Stanley House Hotel. The ladies’ lunch was great fun – they were a very welcoming group of people.
“It was my first visit, but definitely not my last! I can see my sisters and me returning for some rest and relaxation once the new spa opens.”
The next ladies-only event will take place at Stanley House Hotel on Thursday, June 21st, when Coronation Street’s Sunita – actress Shobna Gulati – will be the host. Forinformation or to make a reservation contact 01254 769200.
