REGULARS at The Aspinall Arms, Mitton, are hoping to give landlord Simon Forster a leaving party to remember.

Plans are afoot to fly one of Simon’s favourite bands Big Baby Ernie over from New York to the party, which will be held at Hurst Green Village Hall a week on Saturday, September 15th.

Simon took over at the Aspinall Arms in May, 2002, soon winning it the reputation as a great family pub.

He also put Mitton on the map musically by staging his now famous music nights, with acts travelling from all over the world to play at the small country pub. During his time at the Aspinall Arms, Simon also raised thousands for Pendlebury Children’s Hospital where his nephew, Charlie, received treatment.

Simon’s sister, Sally, who is helping to organise the party, is now appealing for anyone who has ever enjoyed Simon’s hospitality at the Aspinall Arms to help make his leaving party extra special. We are now looking at everyone who will be sad to see Simon leave the Aspinall,” Sally explained.

“We want to get the best leaving party and need everyone to support the event. At present the bands are being flown over through donations and are going to play for nothing. This is an event being created by the community of the Aspinall for Simon to thank him for all that he has done for all of us and anyone who has ever enjoyed his warm hospitality.”

Tickets for the party cost £10 and can be bought online. Anyone wishing to buy tickets or help with the party in any other way should contact Sally on 07867767270. For more information please see www.aspinallarms.co.uk.
