The Al Wood Quartet, a firm favourite on the jazz circuit playing mainstream standards and popular classics, will close the current season of monthly gigs hosted by the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club.

Al Wood’s commitment to presenting fine jazz music is legendary, whether with his Big Band, which appeared at the 2010 Ribble Valley Jazz Festival, or with his acclaimed quartet, making its second appearance locally inside 12 months through popular demand.

The gig take place at the club’s usual venue, the Atrium Café Bar at Clitheroe Castle, next Thursday, July 7th, from 8 p.m. and once again all are welcome, members and non-members alike.

There is a licensed bar with food available, and good parking. Tickets cost £10 on the door (students and under-16s half-price).

After a summer break, the club’s regular gigs will resume on October 6th when the line-up will feature John Hallam with the Tom Kincaid Trio. For more information about the club, including forthcoming events and how to join, visit its website (www.rvjazzandblues.co.uk) or phone 07870 908159.
