There has been an unavoidable change of line-up for the first Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club gig of 2013.

Taking place at the club’s usual venue, the Atrium Cafe Bar at Clitheroe Castle, on Thursday January 10th, the gig was to feature the acclaimed Ed Kainyek Quartet.

Unfortunately front man Ed has been taken ill and is currently hospitalised. However, stepping into his shoes for the Clitheroe gig will be another acclaimed jazz artist, Andy Scott.

Well-known on the jazz circuit, Andy teaches saxophone at the Royal Northern College of Music, so the quality of the evening’s music will certainly not be impaired! The full line-up for the gig is now Andy Scott on tenor and alto sax, Frank Grimes on double bass, “Mighty” Myke Wilson on drums and Andy Stamatakis-Brown on piano/keyboard.

Meanwhile, everyone at the club extends their warmest wished to Ed for a speedy recovery.
