SOME of the most talented youngsters in Lancashire, including singers from Clitheroe, will appear in a special evening at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn, on Thursday.

Maisey, a singing group from Clitheroe Youth, will perform as part of the Lancashire Boys and Girls Clubs’ annual “Clubs Got Talent” night. And one of the hosts of the talent-packed show will be Clitheroe’s Amy Burns, alias A Me B, who won the Clubs’ Got Talent event in 2009 and has just released her first single.

Since her success in 2009, Amy has gone on to perform at the O2 Academy, Liverpool, supporting Tinchy Stryder and recently returned from a recording session at the Abbey Road Studios, London.

Maisey, comprising members of Clitheroe Youth, will open the show at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, performing on the same bill as acts from youth clubs in Blackburn, Preston, Blackpool, Morecambe, Bolton and other Lancashire towns and cities.

The evening will also see the Lancashire Boys and Girls Clubs “traditional” awards ceremony to highlight the positive achievements of young people and the excellent behind the scenes work of so many voluntary youth clubs.

A Me B will also be showing young people how to mix music and write songs in the organisation’s Club2Go mobile youth project.

County Director Alan Donkin, said: “The event is one of the highlights of the year for the organisation and shows the best of the talent we have in the county’s organisations.

“Past acts have gone on to appear in TV programmes such as ‘Waterloo Road’ and done well in regional heats of competitions such as the ‘X Factor’. The fact that this year’s event is being held in such a wonderful venue as the Thwaites Empire Theatre makes it all the more special and we would love to see as many people as possible there on the night cheering the youngsters on.”

Tickets are available on the night priced at £3 per adult and £1 for under-18s. The event starts at 7-30 p.m.
