Dancers at Stonyhurst College have created their own, unique contemporary dance performance, from a series of workshops with professional dancer and choreographer, Kate Jackson.

The Paper Fortune Teller was first performed at the school’s open-weekend, known as Great Academies, and was enjoyed by an audience of parents, staff and friends.

Stonyhurst’s dance teacher, Anna Southward said: “It was beautiful to watch this piece unfold, layered with themes of childhood, infinity and the universal world rhythms of tango, French electronica and modern English folk, as well as the Japanese traditions of Japanese origami often associated with childhood games. Expressive movement was framed in the fun games of ‘paper fortune telling’ central to many of our childhood hopes and dreams, in an extremely challenging and powerful performance.”
