Energetic pupils from a Ribble Valley school swapped the classroom for the dance floor to raise lots of money for a good cause.
Year 9 pupils at St Augustine’s RC High School took part in a “Phyz-a-thon” and raised an impressive £970 for Pendleside Hospice.
Headteacher Mr Michael Wright said he was pleased with the amount raised and with the generosity of everyone who dug deep into their pockets and donated.
Hesaid: “It was superb effort from everyone in Year 9 and great generosity from our parents and grandparents who sponsored the pupils.
“More donations are currently being collected and there will also be a raffle held at the Year 9 parents’ evening so the total should be well over £1,000.
“The classes had a great time led by Kimberley Hill, from Roefield Leisure, who gave her time freely to teach them some funky street-dance moves to some well-known songs.
“It was so good thateven some of the teachers joined in!”
