Customers will find it hard to miss the town’s new tattoo shop – Clitheroeink.

Painted with colourful murals by tattooist Thomas Michaela (30), the arts degree graduate has totally transformed the building behind the mobile phone shop Phoneworks.

Situated on Eshton Terrace next to the entrance to Clitheroe Castle, Thomas opened Clitheroeink specialising in custom designs after travelling the country serving his time in three different tattoo studios.

Former Ribblesdale High School pupil Thomas, who went on to study art at Blackburn College before taking a degree in art and design at Sheffield Hallam University, designs all his own tattoos and has 15 years’ experience in graffiti art.

Soon to be a father with his pregnant girlfriend Robyn Griggs-Geldard, Thomas is saving space on his arm for a tattoo dedicated to his newborn baby.

Clitheroeink is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. For further details visit the studio’s Facebook page.
