A BEAUTIFUL collection of pictures by a local artist is on display at Clitheroe Library until Saturday.

Thomas Lemmon is a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist who lives on Highmoor Park, and has a lifelong interest in the visual arts.

The exhibition by the keen artist and photographer uses a range of media and is produced in portrait, landscape, dreamscape and collage work.

The two collages selected for the exhibition – On the death of John Lennon – were produced from news cuttings in 1980: one image is quite sombre whereas the second is colourful and celebratory of his life.

Mr Lemmon said: “John Lennon famously said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ, and the exhibition also shows The Head of Christ, together with portrait sketches as a visual and thematic contrast.”
