The run up to Christmas was a busy time for members of Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

They had been decorating their windows with Christmas themes as well as holding the first Christmas Festival, which raised money for local charities.

Judging of the best dressed Christmas Window Competition was undertaken by local celebrity, Simon Entwistle. Chamber President Tony Gould, who runs Party People, in Castlegate, said: “The Christmas window competition has been running for many years now and as a Chamber we intend to build on the success of the Christmas Festival as a vehicle to both raise awareness of the benefits from shopping in Clitheroe and raise money for good causes at the same time.”

The Christmas Window Competition winners were: Amelia’s Bridalwear, Moor Lane, for the best dressed window; Mortimers estate agents, Castle Street, for the best lit evening window, and Alpes the Butchers, on Shawbridge, for the best dressed traditional display.
