Two local charities have benefitted from the proceeds of the Clitheroe Town Bonfire, organised by five local service clubs – the Rotary clubs of Clitheroe, Ribblesdale and Pendle View, Clitheroe Round Table and Clitheroe Lions Club.

The charities are Crossroads Care, for carers and the people they support, and Life Education Lancashire.

They each received £4,500 from the bonfire profits when the cheques were presented at the Old Post House Hotel, Clitheroe.

Last year’s bonfire proved to be a great success and plans are already in hand for the 2014 event, which everyone hopes will be blessed with better weather!
