AUTHOR and historian David Casserly will be signing copies of his new book, “Massacre: The Storming of Bolton”, at Clitheroe Castle Museum on Saturday, November 26th.
A native of Bolton, Mr Casserly has had a lifelong fascination with the 1644 Bolton Massacre, one of the bloodiest conflicts of the English Civil War. His book chronicles, in rich detail, the events leading up to the storming of Bolton and the catastrophic consequences for a number of its combatants on both sides.
For anyone interested in the Civil War, this is a fascinating account of the pivotal role played in the conflict by this particular part of Lancashire.
The book signing at the museum is from noon to 4 p.m. and the book itself costs £14.99
Copies are also available direct from the publisher by phoning 01453 847800 or by e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
