Slaidburn Silver Band

Slaidburn Silver Band

Music from the First World War will be featured in a concert by Slaidburn Silver Band this Saturday (June 14th).

It takes place in Whalley Parish Church, starting at 7-30 pm, and tickets can be bought on the door or from the parish office on 01254 823249. They cost £7.50 including refreshments.

Widely acclaimed and long established, Slaidburn Silver Band has entertained generations of Ribble Valley music lovers, for the past four decades under the baton of the same man, jovial conductor John Cowking.

As well as music from its regular repertoire, Saturday’s concert will include a special selection of tunes associated with the First World War, commemorating 100 years since the start of the conflict.

Performed in the wonderful setting of Whalley Parish Church, this is a concert not to be missed.
