A PEACEFUL afternoon in Whalley was shattered when a car mounted a 4ft. foot high garden wall.
The blue Renault Clio, which was travelling along Station Road towards Whalley on Sunday around 1-20 p.m., collided with a garden wall on the corner of Abbeyfields, belonging to Mrs Shirley Baxter.

Two trees were knocked over in the collision, raspberry canes and gooseberry bushes were demolished, Mrs Baxter's greenhouse was pushed off its base and the glass smashed before the vehicle came to a stop at a 45° angle on top of the garden wall.

Luckily no one was hurt in the incident.
