A STEP away from achieving recognition in the Miss England 2009 contest is Sabden beauty Gemma Seed.
The 23-year-old has made it through to the final stage of the Miss Fresh Photographic heat of the fiercely-contested annual competition.

The former pupil of Ribblesdale High School Technology College, Clitheroe, also entered the title of Miss Trafford 2009 last month, but came second.

She is now hoping her family, friends and well-wishers will rally behind her and vote for her so she can win the title and fly the flag for the Ribble Valley.

Gemma, of Pendleside Close, has for the past six months been working as a carer at High Brake House, Clitheroe.

Delighted with her success so far, she said: "There are lots of other girls competing for this title and it seems unbelievable I am so close to winning. I would like to thank all the people that have supported me by voting and would be grateful if they could carry on doing so."

To vote for Gemma, text Gemma Seed to 84205 or call 0901 656 1500 and key 08. Lines will close on Monday.
