LOCAL schoolgirl Alexandra Finch has been chosen as Ribchester Field Day Queen 2008.
The 11-year-old will be crowned following the traditional fancy dress and band parade around the village on June 21st.

Alexandra, who attends St Wilfrid's CE school, Ribchester, has taken part in every Field Day since she was a toddler and is looking forward to her VIP day.

She said: "I'm so excited about being Queen – when I was five I was an attendant on the Queen's float and really enjoyed it. I love the idea of dressing up and all that – it's just fun!"

Alexandra's hobbies include ballet, ice skating, art and crafts, reading and drama – she is a keen member of Young Rats (Ribchester Amateur Theatrical Society).

Her attendants will be Dora Green and Grace Talbot and page-boys will be Archie Crossley and Dominic Finch, Alexandra's brother.
