MORE budding young chefs are being sought by Gisburn's award-winning Italian restaurant La Locanda.
Following the success of the Junior Chef competition, organised with the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times in June, La Locanda plans to put together a recipe book filled with recipe ideas and illustrations from local children.
Aiming to be on sale for Christmas, all profits will be donated to a local children's charities.
The children's charity recipe book also aims to raise awareness of healthy eating.
Said Maurizio Bocchi, chef patron at La Locanda: "We got such a tremendous response to our Junior Chef Competition and such great recipe ideas, we thought with just a few more we could put a whole recipe book together.
"We'll select the healthiest, most nutritious and easy-to-prepare. We'll also try to include as many as we can, representing a good selection of different dishes. It's a perfect afternoon project for a rainy school holiday!"
All children who wish to enter a recipe must be aged eight to 14. All entries should be nutritious, appealing to children and their families and easy to prepare, should contain a list of ingredients, cooking instructions plus an illustration of the finished dish. Children can also provide a head and shoulders shot of themselves for possible inclusion. Entries should also include the child's name, age, school, home address and contact telephone number.
The deadline for entries is Friday, September 12th. Entries should be sent to: La Locanda, c/o The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, 3 King Street, Clitheroe, BB7 2EW, or Rachael Hunter, La Locanda Recipes, AKA PR, High Corn Mill, Chapel Hill, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1NL.
