THOUSANDS of pounds worth of scrap metal has been stolen from business premises in the Ribble Valley.
Thieves escaped with steel girders worth an estimated £4,000 from an engineering firm in Billington, around 9-30 a.m. on Thursday. After being disturbed, they fled in a white sprinter van.

Anyone who witnessed the theft or has information regarding the stolen metal is urged to call Clitheroe Police on 443344, or the free-and-confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
