Women arrested for wearing 'too tight' trousers

POLICE have arrested more than 35 young women in Sudan for disturbing the peace by wearing "too tight" trousers, it has been reported.
Officers said the arrests were part of a crackdown on gangs that have sprung up and have a reputation for drinking, fighting and public nudity.

The women were released without charge after appearing in court hours after their arrest.

Many citizens reacted angrily to the arrests, it was said, after reports described the girls being herded into trucks "like animals" as other hid.
