A huge rise in the number of wild boars in Germany has seen the animals causing havoc.
They are reported as breeding at a phenomenal rate - the population rose by 320% last year - and have been destroying crops, killing pets, attacking people, digging up corpses in cemeteries and ravishing gardens.

Better access to food - and bigger litters - is said to be the reason for the growth in the animals' numbers, experts have said, with the wild boars starting to head into suburban areas.

According to experts, the boar boom is exceptional in Germany, though it is not yet clear why.
