A one Euro coin bearing the face of cartoon character Homer Simpson instead of King Juan Carlos has appeared in Spain.
Jose Martinez, a sweetshop owner in Aviles, made the discovery as he was cashing up, media reports claim, discovering the dodgy Euro with the bald head and big eyes and nose of Homer Simpson instead of the monarch.

"The coin must have been done by a professional, the work is impressive," he is reported to have said.

The other side of the coin, displaying a map of Europe, had remained untouched and no other Homer Simpson coins have yet been found.
