Whalley cruise past Cherry Tree as Gorton stars with ball

Whalley eased past Cherry Tree at Station Road on Saturday by six wickets, with more than half their overs to spare.

Cherry Tree won the toss and elected to bat, but were bowled out for 75, with Simon Gorton taking 4-19, and Joshua McLean and Mark Fallon two wickets apiece.

In reply, 46 not out from 62 balls from Declan Bailey ensured that Whalley reached their required total with six wicket and 22.4 overs remaining.

Whalley make the short trip to Whalley Road on Saturday to face Read, wickets pitched at 1-30 p.m.
